Kathak Parampara Dance Academy, founded in 2023 by celebrated Kathak dancer Sheshadri Sinha, is dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Kathak in the United States. Located in Leander, Texas, the academy serves as a vibrant center for children and adults alike to connect with the roots of Indian culture through the beauty, discipline, and storytelling of Kathak dance.

At our academy, we are committed to teaching Kathak in its purest form, helping students master the art with precision through a structured certification program. Each class places strong emphasis on body posture, intricate footwork, taal (rhythmic cycles), rhythm, and expressive storytelling (bhaav). Sheshadri ensures that every student receives personalized attention, nurturing their technique with care, dedication, and authenticity.

The journey of Kathak Parampara is deeply intertwined with Sheshadri’s own dance journey. Her passion for Kathak began in childhood under the guidance of her first guru, Late Pandit Balram Lal ji, a disciple of Pandit Shukhdev of the Banaras Gharana. Today, she continues her advanced training under world-renowned Kathak maestros: Guru Pandit Jai Kishan Maharaj (eldest son of Padma Vibhushan Late Pandit Birju Maharaj), Shrimati Ruby Mishra, and Tribhuvan Maharaj — all leading exponents of the Lucknow Kalka-Bindadin Gharana.

Over the years, Sheshadri has graced numerous prestigious stages and had the honor of performing alongside legendary artists, including the late Dr. Madhukar Anand, son of nritya guru Pandit Balram Lal ji.
